Gigabye Radeon 8500 problem

This is the same card I got from newegg refurb with 1 fan blade missing. This has since been fixed. Now I have a new problem. I first installed the drivers from the CD that came with it and it recognized it
as a Radeon 8500 fine. Now I go to update the drivers from ATI's site with the new ones and It says my hardware is not compatible. What could be wrong? Do I need special drivers for this Gigabyte card?

You can't use the drivers ATi writes for their "Built by ATi" cards, your best bet is to get the latest driver from Gigabyte's website.
 
Oh, I also have a radeon 8500 built by ati...bummer

Well I just tried the drivers from Gigabytes site and its doing the same thing. The only drivers that work are the ones from the CD it came with!!?
 
Update!

Furor! Those drivers worked! But how do I keep using them? Like Gigabyte is behind the times when it comes to drivers and they are not even working! You are now on my buddy list!!!

This will help me down the road, just what I was looking for. Apparently this card is some type of LE. maybe the 250/250 one. So far it cannot do 275/275 but happily does 275/260. Right now im gonna leave it at that. Only 200 points less than my other retail radeon.
