Giga-byte 6800 running a little hot

I just Recently built my new AMD Gamer 😀, but i have a few questions regarding cooling. My first question is getting me a little upset. My brand new Giga-byte 6800 128MB is getting pretty hot even when im idle. Most of the time it is near 140-155 F* when im idling, or moderate gaming (1-2 hours). It is not over-clocked, but i just recently underclocked it to see if it had any effect. Sure enough my gaming got a whole lot better.

Other notes:
6800 has passive cooling, do i need to buy a fan? If so what kind?

Comp specs:
AMD 3000+
asus a8V deluxe
512 Corsair
430watt PS
case with NO FANS(do i need any?)
other junk

Convert the numbers to C so that we can review them easier... When it comes to computers, C makes more sense to me. When it comes to the environment, F works for me... Just not F'ing C...

Sorry i probly shoulda done that in the first place...but anyways Now playing NFS:U2 at 76C (167F) I idle at about 70C

WOW... I have my 6800GT (with the AC cooler) with an idle GPU temp of 45C... Not sure about under load, but right after game play, I've not seen it give more than a 15C increase (at most, most often only 10C). I suggest you either look to improve the case cooling (to give the stock cooler more air) or install a solution with a fan, or a better fanless solution...

lol uhh thats what i thought...im just a noob at cooling/computer/anything so i post here 🙂

Any recommendations (i have $70 to spend, not looking for cheap crapola)

Thanx man, always love the product links 😀. I think ill get it...looks easy to install. Is it easy to remove stock cooling?

It was, for my eVGA card that had a fan cooler on it... AS sugested by the drone you might want to check to see if it will fit onto your card. It should, but there's nothing worse (well a few things are but we won't get into them here) then ripping the cooler off your video card only to find out it won't install.
