ive used kingmax before.
this is CL2 ram.

the one thing i didnt like about king max is their ram seemed to be less compatible. then again the only ram i ever used of theirs was a tiny BGA allegedly ddr333 stick. it wouldnt work correctly at ddr266 in an HP pavilion SIS chipset based p4 and it crashed all the time on my at the time amd based system.

when i posted somewhere about that, i was told they are better witin intel chipsets. maybe that was just the tinyBGA id unno.

I bought 2-512's Kingmax DDR400 PC3200 from Newegg on 1-19-05 and paid $128.50. I put in an old Soyo SY KT-600 board I had with an AMD 2500XP and I gotta tell you this thing runs fast and sweet with the Kingmax. I was thinking about updating to a DFI nf3 board at the time so I called Kingmax and ask how this stuff did on an nf3 board and they said no issues; it worked fine. This is a really great deal at this price. This is not generic memory. I'm going to buy two more sticks of this for my next build.

read below I would run on an Nforce2 board. Or expect this to OC at all. stability worries me But I have an intel 845pe board BH7 that is anyone have this in a 845 mobo?

"However, then the time came to test the modules at their factory ratings being DDR400 CAS 2.5 on the nForce2 chipset. Unfortunately, this is where things turned ugly for Kingmax. Although the modules are not guarantee to operate correctly with Socket A chipsets I still felt that I was required to test them for stability. Sadly, I was unable to get the modules working on the nForce2 board at DDR400. I also tried the Gigabyte and ASUS nForce2 boards which demonstrated similar instability problems.

When testing the Kingmax MPXC22D-383 512MB memory modules on the Intel i875P platform I found the stability to be completely different to that of the Socket A boards. This time I was able to operate the modules at DDR400 however this was achieved with quite poor memory timings. Those timings being CAS2.5 3-2-7, strangely enough this didn?t hurt the systems performance as much as I would have expected. Compared to the Corsair PC3500 XMS memory running CAS2 2-2-6 the Kingmax modules performed quite well. "

Mine will be here early next week i'm guessing. 110.xx shipped. I have one of those Soyo/RadeonIGP boards sitting here in a cheap case with a 2.4ghz celeron i've been using a test system. only had 256MB ram, fixing that problem now! should REALLY perk it up. plus the red memory PCBs will go great with the red mobo PCB :) i'll post pics once it's all here :) I spent about an hour on the wiring job alone in this beast. That was only because it had so few wires (as compared to my main tower with 4 hdds, 2 opticals, fan and light controllers, etc.) i couldn't resist doing a good job on it :)

They're out. It is now auto notify. Who knows when or what price it will be when it gets restocked. Probably just trying to check the depth of the interest at this price level. Gotta say system memory is cheap. Get it if you need it.

Well, that's almost double the price though. And if you're building and A64 system it won't even be much of a difference in performance.

Like owl said, it's auto-notify now, since it's out of stock. Be aware, as well, that the mail in rebate is good for purchases only through 02-28-2005. If you get the notification to purchase by next Monday, it's cool, but after that you'll miss out on the MIR. :frown:

Nope, will go in my IS-7, 2.4 system. Currently running XMS 3200 LL 2-2-2-5, but only 512MB.

From 2.5 3 3 6 T1 to 2 2 2 5 T1? You don't think any benchmarking program can see the diff?

Even at $100 I'm still a little strapped for cash, good thing they're no longer in stock, I need to hold off on my spending.

thats exactly it. benchmarks. i could sit you down at 2 computers, one with super fast timings, and one with regular and you would never be able to tell the difference. 1-2% increase in performance does not justify super high prices

That was a 2003 review:
07/29/2004 BIOS
Patch Kingmax DIMM (MPWC22D-38KT3R-FBA) compatibility issue. Add show K7 Sempron CPU information on POST screen. Patched some online game networking will be disconnected after running about 30 minites. Solved PCI/AGP slot usage status reporting error on DMI. Solved coding error. UDMA3 should be ATA44 not ATA66.

I saw this thread last night and jumped on it. Newegg emailed the tracking number earlier. :) Thanks OP!

Sad man.

It gets better...in boredom and anticipation tonight i broke it out merely to do a fan swap, ended up redoing almost all the wiring. I've got a sweet XP install done on it, used WIndowblinds and completely themed it OSX style (i'm going through an OSX fetish). It looks sweet both physically and on screen. Now alls i gots to do is crank up the performance a bit and i'm in good shape :) the memory is a nice starting point :)
