Gift Suggestions for My Wife, A New Mom

SALvation

Last Sunday, my wife gave birth to our first baby, a boy. I would like to get her something but need some suggestions. Price range is <=$100 and it would be nice if it was engraved. Any ideas?

a mothers ring with yours and the babys birthstone. if you get synthetic gems you should find it under 100 bucks.

Why ? by the time the kid gets here you've worn every pair of sweats you own to death and they look just as frumpy as you feel.New exercise clothing is a moral booster as well as a gentle reminder that you're not just a mother but also a wife.. the sooner you get the baby weight off,the sooner your intimate life can resume.

btw, "mother's rings" can be nice but they equal=old lady, not a great gift for the mother of a newborn
exercise clothing, a gift certificate for a haircut or even better for a pedicure(when you're in your 3rd trimster reaching your feet gets tough)

Having been through this a few times..

  • A trip to the spa, for a few hours of pampering
A few hours of maid service, to do some of the nasty cleaning (bathrooms, windows, etc.)
If you don't have one, a Baby Bjorn baby carrier. It's a must-have for new babies up until about 8 months old. Skip the rest of the front packs, get this one. It's expensive, but worth it.
    Flowers. Lots of flowers.

If I bought exercise clothing for my g/f I could just hear her saying "Oh, you think I'm fat??!" and that would be bad....

I gift certificate to get a pedicure sounds good....you could maybe throw in one for a full body massage as well!

A ring sounds like a pretty good idea. As for exercise clothes, she is already at her pre-pregnancy weight, just 10 days after giving birth. How did she do it? A steady diet of IV bags for the week prior to labor as she developed kidney stones. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'd skip the physical gifts and send her off to a nice Spa. A half day of relaxing, massage, manocure, pedocure, etc... I bet she'd love that especially since she just gave birth and could probably use the relaxing.

Few hours at the Spa...

or a "free call to a house cleaner" for when she just cant handle it and needs a break...

Something that shows your thinking of her 🙂

listen to this man

It's painful, but make her some coupons that she can use to put you on baby duty. That's the one thing that new mothers seem to need eventually...a break.

I got something from Babies Can't Read. I bought her two bibs from there. Go check them out. Your wife might get a kick out of it.

Oh, anything for the baby, is appreciated by a new mom.

A bouncer, swing, etc. Something you need. You have to support a new family member now. AS shocking as it is, my wife told me not to spend money on her anymore. It's alll about the boy now.
