One of my friends kid is turning 1 in two weeks and he is having a party.
But need advice on what gift I could get the kid since everyone will get him toys and clothes; I already gave him two stuffed animals in the past, hoping that I don?t buy him something someone already got.

can he walk yet?

if not you can get one of those toys that can convert from a push-walker to a riding toy.

EDIT: this one.

my daughter liked it.

a huge package of diapers.

the parents will certainly appreciate it :)

the baby will outgrow the clothes/toys in a matter of months.

Good post. Today's babies generally have way too many clothes/toys. A birthday party where guests give another flood of toys really is overboard in my opinion. A child will be equally happy with 10 toys as he/she will be with 100 toys.

A gift to the parents, however, will go a long way.

Presents for a one year old are presents for the parents as the kid is too young to get it. Keep that in mind...

my daughter also likes this toy though she can't understand the alphabet yet and isn't even forming words yet. she still likes playing with magnets on the fridge.

An empty cardboard box, maybe a paper bag, or the ring from a mason jar lid... anything that's not actually a toy but would be safe for a 1 year old to play with. They like the things that aren't actually toys the best.

now that looks cool something to learn with.

i was thinking of getting him something to play with and also learn, does it matter what age to start or the faster the better.
