I have a really good friend that I probably won't get to see again after high school. I don't always say what I think (i.e. how much I appreciate how good of a friend she's been) and I was trying to think of something I could buy her as a graduation gift.

It HAS TO BE sentimental but not flowers unless you can think of something creative to do with them. Also... needs to be something in the sub-$100 range, but if it's more or less $100 exactly, I suppose that's fine. If it's 50 cents, that's fine too. :)

Just to give you something to work with... she's an avid badminton player... going to study pharmacy. Not really that much to say about her interests, she tends to do way too much work. She's very mature.. has very conservative values. Her parents immigrated when she was young.

Ideas I've had so far... something simple like a card with a thoughtful message. Or maybe something to do with badminton but I can't think of anything that is very sentimental.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.........

True, asians generally like cute things. Hence, me and my g/f. ;)

But really, as anyone will tell you, find something that has specific meaning to the two of you, maybe a personal joke or something that you both shared, and that'll be better than anything else you'll find in a store or online.

Good luck!

the best things you can give are the things you can't buy.

if she is a really good friend, you would instinctively know what to give to her. what are your strong suits? maybe you can draw out a card or create a scrapbook of good times and bad times you had with her.

it's up to you. good luck. :)

Buy her some hello kitty stuff, some asian snacks n crackers, inspirational small book of quotes, and write a short letter of how you two met and how you grew from being friends with her, and make it into a nice presentation that shows you took alot of time to make. I have lots of memories but no particularly good way to make them into gifts . :)

As for instinctively knowing... I would know what she would or would not like without much thought, but as for coming up with ideas that is something a bit different.

And yes I realize that pharmacy is a typical asian female thing.

Actually most of my asian friends already have way too much hello kitty stuff. Our calculus teacher even makes fun of it all the time. :)

The second part is a good idea tho... and there are a couple of defining moments in how we met... so... hmm

<< Charm bracelet with a Badminton (Tennis?) racquet charm? >>

Hey boyfriend might be upset with that. He's a pretty mellow guy and he's my friend, I wouldn't want to step on his territory. The three of us hang out together from time to time.

Nothing says "I'll remember you" like a vibrator. And given the conservative backround, the real thing may be far off in the future. This will keep everything in working order.

Get her a stun gun . . . all of my female PharmD friends have stalker stories . . . and for the perfect gift put a Type R sticker on one side and a Hello Kitty on the other.

Get her a spoiler designed by Boeing! Or... a Carbon fiber dash kit... (Chrome works too). Racing Cams? Oh wait... sub $100, a Hello Kitty bobble head for the dash board!

maybe some opium ;)

jk...do you guys have any recent photos? you could get a nice picture frame with *drum roll* a nice picture of you two :) or if you are paranoid about your friend(her bf) getting angry with you, maybe you can dig up a group picture with you and all of your friends or something (if you don't have one already, make an excuse to take a photo) :)
