Darjeeling Limited soundtrack or Shantaram. These are both excellent (the latter a masterpiece) for westerners imo. If she is a history buff The Great Indian Novel is amazing but you have to be a history/literary buff to appreciate its brilliance.. I was a bit bored by it even though I could recognize how good it was.

edit: and all medical supplies are readily available in India, at a cheaper price, plus that is a lame gift for a chick you like so don't do that. aside from shots and whatnot which unless you are a doctor, you won't be concerned with
