Gift from Blizzard? Or nice scam?

I just received an e-mail from the Blizzard store.
Hello, than you for shopping at the Blizzard Store! Starcraft II Wings of Liberty (string of 25 numbers follow, looks like a CD Key)
To use this key to activate the game, simply follow these instructions:
  • Create a Battle.net account (or if you already have one, log in) at
    Code:
    http://eu.battle.gameredemption.us/battlelogin.html
  • Verify your e-mail address (If you have previously verified your address, skip this step.) From the main Account Mangement page, click the 'verify this e-mail address' link. Then check your e-mail account for a verification e-mail. Click the link in this e-mail to verify your e-mail address.
  • Return to the Battle.net account management page, the click on 'Code Redemption'
  • Enter the above CDKey in the code field
  • Once you have successfully redeemed this code, you will be able to play the game.

So here is the wierd part; I did not purchase this game. Nor do the last four digits on the sales receipt match up with a card we have ever carried. I have to wait until noon to call Blizzard and see what is up.

For those who have more knowledge of the game, on the Blizz forums are people posting scams like this?

You see an address like that, and you have to ASK if it's a scam or not?

What they're doing is hoping you think somebody put in the wrong email when buying the game, and now you get a free copy... so you go to that site to log in to Bnet. Then they have your info and they can steal your account. But I wouldn't think most Bnet users would look at that link and say "oh yeah, that's legit" so really it's a shitty fishing attempt... you're proving me wrong though OP

Spam. Cmon man, use your head.

For every one of you FallenHero, who pretty much know everything, there are twenty of us who don't. Thank you for your effort in typing out those 22 letters, three punctuation marks and two spaces. I know I took a lot of your time out of your busy day (with solving humanity's problems and figuring out how to make the world's first fusion generator).

Actually looking at a URL is basic stuff man. Next time, just check the URL. Now you know everything like the rest of us, congrats!

Or I could just use my brain and figure out that HOLY CRAP blizzard doesn't send you to links like that. Deduction is a wonderful thing. Try it, instead of coming back on here with some half-assed flame.

EU, gameredemption, and .US?

umm....you are seriously questioning whether this is a scam or not?

YOU DIDN'T ORDER IT AND YOU DON'T HAVE A CARD WITH THAT NUMBER! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THIS IS EVEN REMOTELY LEGIT???

It's totally legit.

He just might need to correct his credit card number after he logs into the site for verification.

This is what the scam email looks like, the gameredemption.us url should give it away pretty quickly...

Even if the super obvious URL didn't give it away...you think Blizzard is in the habit of giving away a $60 game?
