Found another interesting glitch last night.
Apparently ALL dogs are evil.
I was at the power plant near Novac doing the quest there and one of the consoles I needed to use was surrounded by NCR guard dogs. I was neutral to NCR and was doing the quest to help get some type of good rep with them.
I walk up and the dogs turn "red" and attack me.
I murder them all, next thing I know every NCR bastard in the place is on me.

Well, at least they're working to get some things resolved...

This is my favorite quote from the article:

How the #$%@ is autosave a difficult thing to replicate?

Must be an elusive F5 key. :colbert:

They probably didn't use Steam in-house.

I'm enjoying a bug-free experience and I'm not using Steam.

I'm using steam and have been using quick save w/ no issues. Only bug I have had was the white flashes and I had a bug get stock on a rock.

I think they were just guard dogs. The other console had booby-traps around it, so I figured the dogs were just another version of that. The NCR didn't attack me after I killed the dogs though.

Got some quest to drag some dead guys body from the wasteland to an outpost. So I went and got it and couldn't find a close outpost so I dragged it all the way to camp golf (like a 10 minute walk while dragging) and then realized I went to the wrong place and had to drag it all the way back. Was pissed so I delivered the body with no legs, arms or head. They didn't seem to care lol.

played it today. i was disappoint. felt like i was playing fo3, except it took like 3x longer to get everywhere, and it was really boring since it didnt have that new game feel....

I've completed Primm now (~4 hrs into the game) and the only thing I've noticed is the aforementioned white flashing squares on occasion (gtx 460). No showstoppers yet. I'll try lowering the AA and see if that fixes it.

Turning from Bloom to HDR (or the other way around, whatever one it wasn't originally), and that got rid of the flashing squares for me.

Personally, I'm loving this game.

I'm stuck trying to figure out one of the Kings mission about investigating the goons (NPR) who attacked his friends. I get to the guy who asks me all these questions about their gang and I sure as hell don't know....

Head on over to the NV Nexus. There's a d3d9.dll file someone wrote which GREATLY improves FPS. It really works... Mine is up like 40 FPS after using it.

Fantastic! I was having issues on an ATI 5970 even when I turned the settings on medium and resolution down to 1680x1050. Used this dll and now everything works great on ultra at 2560x1600. Thankyou for the heads up.

Why do they make it so difficult to travel to your suite? It's exactly the same as in FO3. To get to your suite you had to fast travel outside, ring the bell, wait for the door to open, and go through 3 or 4 different areas and loading screens.

Because it's Bethesda.

Why the fuck are radscorpions so fucking powerful?!? Even with a companion and a missle launcher I still get raped by these...so dumb, really makes me not wanna play.

Well I'm like level 15 or something and my guns level is maxed out at 100, and I still struggle to kill medium difficult enemies. I don't know if guns are just super weak or maybe the fact that I still haven't found a decent gun. I vaguely remember being able to demolish enemies like super mutants at around this point in FO3.

Is anybody else seeing this? Where can I find a decent gun?

You guys are really hardcore for buying and actually trying to play the game, my sincere thumbs up for enduring it.

Yesterday, 30 minutes after patching, I had one crash. But I've played all day today with no crashes. Hopefully my luck will continue.

Ammo has a lot to due with damage this time around.

I played for damn near hours today and seemed like I got nowhere. This game is just a web of quests, side quests, optional quests, stories, and dialogue after you hit Freeside and the Strip.

What I like about this time around is that the games outcomes are not just limited by what you chose in the dialogue between characters, but the order in which you meet them. The clan popularity also adds a nice twist to the story. On top of that, the dialogue can be determinable by what the character actually has experienced or discovered and what traits he posses.

I can see why they're using the same graphics engine, because they seriously spent a lot of time on the removing the linearity of the quests and story. However sometimes they catch themselves in their own web of time line based quests and the dialogue actually gets caught in a null loop.

Auto and Quick save still does not work for me.

I can't even get the fucking game to run. On a clean install of Win7 x64 it crashes to the desktop right after the Bethesda title screen.

POS. I hope they're going to give me a refund.

Has anybody read the RockPaperShotgun review of New Vegas?

If so...does anyone disagree? I want to play it, but they were pretty scathing. I'm not sure if it's worth my money anymore.

The fact that this game looks like oblivion that I was playing 5 years ago means fuck it all. Update your fucking engine if you want to be considered AAA.

Don't click on the link from the main website as the URL isn't correct.

Harsh review - but a lot of it very true. That area of the United States is mainly desert/mountain - so expect a lot of "nothingness" with bits and pieces of dead bodies, gas stations, caves, and A LOT of irradiated animals.

The article mentions and empty casino in New Vegas - A casino early in the game is also empty, yet the local residents talk about how popular it is. Walk inside and nobody is using the casinos, nobody is watching the cash registers or safes - so you're free to walk in and steal whatever you need [which so far doesn't seem to affect karma], and the place looks run down.

When you receive information about something and think it's a quest - it ends up being a note with very vague information.

The game feels "incomplete" and uncoordinated at times... reminds me of meetings where people have 15 billion different ideas and the manager says "Ok..we'll use all of them!"

The only major complaint I have so far with the game is it's a bit too linear and tries to prevent you from exploring by putting mobs in certain areas that'll kill you in a couple of hits - MMO style of gaming without knowing what level the mobs are.

There are still bugs/problems - I'd honestly wait until it's on sale.

I had the same issue but with NCR guards at the radio station on The Strip. Mind you, I still haven't had any bugs that are game crippling. No freezes or CTDs. Some frame rate issues that I mentioned before. I was hoping Catalyst 10.10 would fix that, but it didn't. I'm not sure why others are having so many issues.
