very cool... glad I don't live down there. Just thinking about being wrapped up by one of those things makes me shudder.

squid and octopi are tasty though. esp cooked. but soemthing that big probably has tons of polutant like mercury built up in its body.

It's the Japanese way. They're just trying to find the best spot to fish the giant squid into extinction, like they do with everything else. Hell, after they finished examining it, they probably cooked the tentacle up in a soup and ate it with noodles.
