Well in his defense, Komodo Dragons are pretty deadly.

He should get a Darwin nomination at least though.

Have you never heard of Komodo dragons before?

"Giant lizards kill unsuspecting fisherman" was the title of the link on the CNN.com homepage. That made a more interesting post title than the article title, "Komodo dragons kill Indonesian fisherman".

😛

If years of RPG games have taught me anything, it's don't fuck with the dragons unless you're ready. That fool probably didn't even have a decent sword or health pots.

Park rangers also tell the cautionary tale of a Swiss tourist who vanished leaving nothing but a pair of spectacles and a camera after an encounter with the dragons several years ago.
:Q

fuck the story, I want to hear more about these delicious sugar apples. I may never eat another Gala again.

Ughh, I remember on the Natl Geographics channel watching a show on the Komodo Dragons. One had bitten the balls off of a water buffalo, and within four hours the venomous bite had killed the buffalo.
Props to the NG cameraman for making me lose my lunch as he got several closeups of the infected area, with all kinds of shredded meat left dangling from the bulls hindquarters.

*puke*

ah custard apple... i love them... last time i got one was in taiwan , but it wasn't ripe yet... so i had it in my bag for a week, and came back to the states with it. right before the customs, i had to eat the entire thing so it wouldn't go into the trashcan. i spit out all the seeds into this tiny Styrofoam cup, and filled it up quickly.

Life would be more interesting if I had to watch out for giant predators on a daily basis. 😀

Sugar/Custard Apples--DELICIOUS!! They're not really apples. I found some in Toronto last year. Damn, I'd wrestle Komodo dragons for them custard apples!.

I was under the impression that komodo dragons are not venomous, but there was so much nasty shit in their mouths that the bizarre strains of bacteria they left behind in a bite would kill their victims for them.

I disagree.

But in reality, he should probably get a nomination for the Darwn Award.

Pffffft, like if you were in that fisherman's place, you geniuses was magically know the island was part of the Komodo reserve. The Komodo islands look completely different than normal islands, right? 🙂
