Hey, is there an easy way to do a full copy of an XP install on an NTFS formatted drive? Ghost won't read NTFS partitions, right?

Thanks.

i think the latest version of ghost pro will read from AND write to NTFS , but drive image 5 or 6 will do a very nice job of it.
good luck

The issue your refering to is that older Ghost versions wont WRITE to NTFS from dos, reading is fine.

i have sussfully backed up my image using ghost 2003 but i have not as of yet needed to bring this image back up...but with the previous ghost..i would not even save the image succssfully..so i think that this time getting to image back into the HD will work..

but dont know for sure if it will be possible..

I have Ghost 2002, can anyone confirm whether or not I'll be able to ghost my NTFS drive to a new one on that?

Im getting a new HD next week and I wanna copy my existing drive to the new one so I can install my current drive on my second machine (gotta upgrade the old box so my GF can play SIMS Online when it comes out), I'm just not sure if my current Ghost will be able to do it or not.

Supposing it can't, will I simple copy & paste while running XP work, like it used to in 98, or no?

Other than that I just gotta buy a new version of Ghost or Drive Image?

Gracias,

j

YES you can ghost your ntfs drive/partition. just dont format your new hard drive as ntfs unless you have the newest version of ghost
