I was wondering about ghosting... I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 the WXSGA or whatever (widescreen) and was wondering what the specs of the laptop's lcd compare to say the 19" Dell 1905FP. I think gameplay on my laptop is fine, so I was trying to compare of how the laptop's display is to one of these lcds.

You will need good cables (for DVI *or* VGA) to achieve the clarity you have with an integrated display. For ghosting though, yeah it will be better no matter what.

You're saying the standalone lcd would be better for gaming or the laptop lcd?

Just some of the wording got me confused... :)

I think those are supposed to be out sometime in May. As for now, your best best is the L90D+.

naw, i was just saying that the quality of the still image will only be on par if you use good cables.

You don't need "good cables" at all. I don't know where you got this idea. Considering DVI is DIGITAL, loss of signal quality simply doesn't occur over normal lengths.

So if I don't have any problem with my laptop gaming, I should be fine using a standalone lcd monitor? Maybe my eyes just aren't as quick to pick up the ghosting that people see.

I use a $12 DVI cable I got off ebay. Works excellent. Unless the cable is BROKEN any cheap cable will work for digital signals. Theres a reason people say don't overspend on "special" digital coax cables. It is because it is just a 75 ohm video cable!

Just buy a cheap cable from a reputable company/seller and you will be fine

I received my Hyundai L90D+ yesterday from newegg. Awesome display with no noticeable ghosting whatsoever. So far I'm very pleased.

That's good to hear because I'm seriously considering picking one up.
