hey guys, just picked up a WD1200JB for $79 thanks to the fellows over in hot deals. Now, in theory, I want to ghost my main boot drive (40GB) onto the new disk and have the OS running off the new drive. What software can get this done, if any? Thanks for any suggestions.

Ghost is a piece of Cake, create a boot up disk on a floppy and follow the instructions...

run ghost.exe copy partition to partition. or if you're like me, I made a basic OS install with all the tools and apps i use regularly, and made a ghost image of that. it takes 3CDs but is much easier to reimage my machine if i or something screws it up.

The latest powerquest drive image is all GUI in Windows, than it reboots and does the copying. Not really complicated at all

I wish these type of programs supported dynamic disks

If you're thinking about Windows dynamic disks, you won't ever see it happen. Windows (software/OS) controls the dyanamic disks and not hardware. Disk to disk copy will never support dynamic disks, it's not possible with today's OS.
