ghost with System Works 2005

my problem is with the bootable System Works 2005 cd.

Im trying to ghost but it will not recognize my external drive (usb). It will not go into ghost when its hooked up, and if i try after the fact....it still does not recognize the drives

Its in a single partition and i cannot do a partition to image as its only one main partition

has anyone encountered this?

PS: i have tried the install usb 1.1/2.0 drivers. (ghost option)
 
I used partition magic (loaded on system works 2005 cd i have) and created a 2nd partition. Now when i boot to norton ghost...it will hang for a few seconds then boot to XP????

any ideas??
 
As I recall Norton changed Norton Ghost after the 2003 version. They went to v9 which was based off a differnt software from the original ghost.

This guide explains the differences. Check which version you have it maybe that you have the new v9 and that maybe the problem.

I only use Norton Ghost 2003 so if you have v9 I don't know much about it other than I tried it & it didnt work so I dont use it.
