I made a Ghost image of my hd. My HD is about 5.4GB. I just saved the file to a different partition instead of a dvd.
My quesiton is why is there 3 files?

One file is1.99GB
"Backup image of Disk 1 with partition OS (C:)
Backup taken on 4/22/2004"

The other two are Spanned files that are 1.99GB and 1.45GB.

I had the compression on the default setting which is Fast. SO the file size of all three is strange because, added up, that would mean no compression.
I don't remember Ghost wanting to span the image? Where is the option to turn that off?

Made another image onto dvd just to see what it would do. Only thing I changed was Compression. I set it to Highest. It still is three files. Two 1 Gig files and one 650MB file. No big deal really I was just wanting to know why it wasn't just one file.

Ghost caps file size @ 2 gigs. So, if your total size is above 2 gigs, it will cut it into 2 gig portions + remainders.'

Use GhostEXP to "glue" the pieces together.
