I used Ghost 2003 to image 1 hdd (C) to a partition (D) on another hdd. I then switched the IDE cables (3&4) and renamed the drives so that D became C and I could boot off of the new C. They are both NTFS and everything is working fine. Is it OK to uninstall Ghost or is Ghost "managing" the change in the background? I assume a new MBR was written when I made the change or is it necessary to force a write of a new MBR?

From my own experience with Ghost 6.5 Enterprise(at work), I'd say you're likely fine un-installing the program - I've done LOTS of strange configuations and combinations using Ghost without it installed on the system and I've never run into any problems with it needing to access some file or other. 😉
