hey.... wanna know what ghetto mean when a person says "that _____ is ghetto".... does he mean that in a negative sense?

"ghetto" is a term that refers to an area which is not up to par with the majority's (middle-class) standards. cheap housing, crime, slang talk, etc.....these usually are the first things that come to mind when someone mentions "ghetto". it's not always derogatory either. some people like to be the ghettoist! i have been living in a city for 11 years, and have seen/done much. ghetto can be either what you are, or where you are.
