I was having trouble with the sound in Max Payne, going high to low instantaneously, with some slight crackling as well. Reinstalled the latest Fortissimo II driver and that seemed to fix it. But yesterday I was listening to music and realized that I hadn't enabled my GFII equalizer after I'd reinstalled the driver--then tried later to play Max Payne and again, choppy, fluctuating sound. So the problem with Max Payne's sound kicks in if I enable my Equalizer; I'm happy to have isolated the problem...but now what?
If there is anyone out there who plays Max Payne and has a sound card with the equalizer enabled (assuming the driver provides one-I think most cards out now do have one) can you tell me what card is it? Or if you have a GFII with the equalizer enabled, can you tell me what you're settings are, which patched version of the game are you running, etc.? Any help will be greatly appreciated...thanks!
