I just got the new GF7600GT (Gigabyte) and the cooler seems to be badly installed, i get very high temps even at idle with the case open (55-60C) and it get's around 75C on load. I want to get rid of the cooler and install a new and silent one. I know that the Zalman V700 AL-CU is a good fit but i'd rather go with an nv silencer, anyone knows if the 6 or 5 in compatible with my card, arctic cooling's website has no information on the 7600GT (but it seems nv silencer 6 should do the trick). If both can fit which one should i choose?

Thanks

I'm not sure about it fitting...I checked into that too, I just bought an eVGA 7600GT. I couldn't find dimensions of your card, but the evga is about 230 mm long, and both the rev. 5 and 6 coolers from arctic are 218 mm...so that leaves you 12 mm working room. That doesn't include any caps that are in the way.

I'm definitly gonna be ordering a Zalman v700 for my 7600 when it gets here, because Zalman's already released a statement saying it fits the 7600gt.

You might try emailing arctic to see if they have tested their coolers on a 7600.
