GF4Ti4200-what's taking so long?

when is the card going to be released into the market? i've heard about delays and i'm quite lost already. thanks in advanced.
 
nVidia is smart to delay the card so that it doesn't kill sales of the 4400/4600.
 
The latest news I heard is early May... Most of the card manufacturers are waiting for chips from Nvidia....

After this comes out, no educated person will buy their GF4 MX line anymore... so I guess they dont wanna release it just yet...

And the MX lines, and the GF3's, etc.

Too much money at stake here, there are lots of cards still to sell.

They are probably holding it off as long as possible, which is why there is no set release date. They want to empty their GF3 stock at higher prices, and continue to sell the 4400 and 4600 in larger numbers. They are also trying to tell people to wait just a little while longer instead of paying the $150 now for the Radeon 8500.
 
i want the geforce 4 ti4200 so bad for the new system i am going to build. it seems like just the right video card for me and the best part is it is cheaper than some other cards out there.
 
ATI & NVIDIA must both be content enough with current sales and certainly their customers do not stand much to gain (moreso NVIDIA's). It has been a long time since I have reduced myself to waiting for the release of a new game card. I hope one of them blinks soon 'cause I want a Ti 4200 64MB or a Radeon 8700.

He must be mistaking the MX 420 for the Geforce 4 4200Ti. Nvdia name similarity strikes again! Intentional confusion, or innocent coincidence? I am sure the other posters are correct. The Nvida retailers would NOT be amused to be stuck with a bunch of $299 Geforce 3 cards, $150 Geforce 4 MX 440 cards, and $179 Geforce 4 MX460 cards only to find the new Geforce 4 4200 Ti available for less than $200 online. The question is can we hold out as long as Nvidia can? I for one, picked up a Geforce 2 GTS-V to provide a temporary upgrade from the old MX and will happily wait until the 4200 Ti is available and under $150 before I consider the next upgrade. I may even upgrade the processor and motherboard first since they appear to be better bargains at the moment.

NVIDIA really took advantage of their loyal customers by releasing that pile of dog s**t they call the GeForce"4" MX Series. Now they're delaying the release of a real GeForce 4 card Ti4200? Dirty pool if you ask me

Sorry if I offend anyone by saying this, but it's true.
 
hehe...entirely true demonicon. maybe their BS with the gf4mx and ti4200 is gonna make some nvidia fans retire and move on to ati.
