no i'm not, but maybe u need to learn how to read. first u need to go get hooked on phonics... then practice ur newfound skillz and read a gf4 review.

The performance of the GeForce4 MX440 and 460 cards, however, proved to be very impressive. Especially the GeForce4 MX460, which is able to score results as high as those of the GeForce3 Ti200, or even the Ti500 cards. Both are able to beat ATi's Radeon 7500 in most cases.

so next time instead of trying to be smartass.... or dumbass... pull ur head out of your arse and read. it's fundamental.

System Spec:
T'bird 850@1G (7.5x133)
KK266
384MB Kingmax PC150
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Leadtek GF4MX A 170 DDR T
10GB Fireball CX
48X CDROM
16/10/40 Yamaha CDRW

WinME - was not sure of the drivers revision.
WinXP Pro - Det27.20 (I think Leadtek's modified drivers since it can detect the model of the card, not GF4MX440).

So far I havent encounter a single problem with the card. I didnt even clean my previous Det21.81 drivers but it doesnt really matter coz it wouldnt have GF4MX data in it.

GeForce 4 MX440 + VIA KT133(A) = Problems?!

Hi,
I tried a couple of newly bought GeForce 4 MX440 video cards. These cards have a definite problem with VIA KT133(A) chipset based motherboards. I tried them on two motherboards one with KT133A and the other with KT133. On the first one none of them booted and on the second one only one (gainward) booted with a garbled output. On the other hand they all work fine on an Intel motherboard. Has anyone else tested G4MX cards with these KT133 boards? I tried three G4 cards of two different brands and from 2 different sources and they show the same problem. So it is surely not a coincidence or a problem with one card only. Other cards like Radeon and GF2MX, SiS etc work fine on these boards. There is definite issue with G4 and KT133. Or at least with the FIC based KT133 boards that I have.

Following is the configuration I tried with -
Motherboard 1:
VIA KT133A chipset FIC AZ11EA brand motherboard
Athlon XP 1800+ CPU, 1GB PC133 SDRAM, 40+60GB Maxtor HDD
SB Live!5.1, Realtek N/W card

Motherboard 2:
VIA KT133 chipset FIC AZ11E brand motherboard
Athlon 1.3 GHz CPU, 384 MB PC100 SDRAM, 20GB WD HDD
Realtek N/W card, Trendnet WinModem

The Intel board I tried was on a standard Dell Precision 220 Workstation.

The cards I used were Leadtek and Gainward G4MX440 ones

I hope some other folks out there can verify this. Its a shame that they didn't do a good job of compatbility testing. Also most of the reviewers seem to use only high end VIAKT266A based boards.
I'd warn anyone with a KT133 based board to think seriously and do some testing before buying a G4MX based video card.

Thanks,
WhoDaresWins

<< The MX would be a nice option if it cost 70 bucks, not 170. >>

Look on pricewatch.com

The Geforce 4 MX 440 is now $96
>>

Interesting, considering the 420 is 14$ higher, and much closer to the MSRP.

It looks a supply glitch , or severe lack of demand.

The Geforce 4MX isn't great but it isn't terrible, it's can about match the Geforce 2 Ultra. But it ain't no Geforce 3ti or 4ti.

If you wanna get some Geforce 3 features that the 4 doesn't have then maybe the GF3 200ti might be worth a look.

Doesn't the GF4 MX have 1 or 2 features that the GF3's don't?

And that would be the HyperZ alike LMA and intergrated secondary RAMDAC.

Bozo,
I think the problem lies within your board. Im running a Leadtek A170 DDR T now without any sort of problem and its on KT133A mobo. It pays to have a decent board. My 0.02

No one is buying the MX420. But the MX440 has been selling like mad. I have watched the price drop almost daily since the card came out.
As of today the price went up to $98

i think a lot of ppl just didn't read the reviews of the gf4 series. they saw it was a gf4 and goobled it right up. as TheCrom said... its not a great card, but its not terible either. right now, it is priced about how the gf2mx was priced when if came out.
