I live in Europe and at my local store I can get these cards for the same price.

What should I get?

I checked Anands reports and it seems like the MX440 have a small performance advantage. But are there any other factors that I should take into consideration?

Your input is much appreciated

It is tight between the R7500 and the MX440. To be quite honest however, I would take a R7500 (make sure its using DDR). In newer games the R7500 takes the lead by as much as 40% at 1024x768. And plus with its superior 2D Image quality, I'd say get the r7500.

Dont listen to the ATi fanboys ;) I have never had a problem with any geforce cards 2d. I have just moved to a inno3d ti4200 (via a kyroII stop gap) and my previous setup was dual monitor elsa gts ultra / voodoo5500 pci their was no difference in 2d quality.

IF you dont have a bigger monitor that runs above 1280 and above res, 2d quality wont be to noticable. I would look for an 8500le or a ti200. better investment IMHO. otherwise either will do, though the dv dplayback on the 7500 is better.
