gf4 doing video capturing?

from a thread that was posted a while ago, it seems that gf4 can be connected to a vcr to watch tv. i'm just wondering if gf4 vivo can also use some video cature program (like virtual dub) to capture video..... in that case, doesn't taht mean gf4 can totally replace a tv tuner/capture card??

I have a GF2 card with a VIVO module that I use with a VCR plugged into it. I use Cyberlink's Power VCR to watch TV and for capturing. It works like a charm and I imagine that the Phillips encoder on my VIVO module is pretty much the same one used on most GF4s. Power VCR even has time shifting capabilities and the GF2 + VIVO captures hands down better than my technology ancient hauppaugue WinTV PCI card which employs the ~5 year old BT878 chip.

Well, the GF4 still won't function as a tuner, but it might do video capture. The PowerDirector software that's included with the Visiontek is suppose to have that capability, but I haven't tested it (They haven't sent me my VIVO cable and the CD with PD software yet).

cool!! the one thing that i was worried about is the capturing since nvidia didn't say anything about video capturing with gf4...
and since i have a vcr, i guess i'm pretty much set with just gf4! thanks guys!
