Clock speed going from 470 to 480 - 15.3%
Shader increase going from 470 to 480 - 9%
Memory Bandwidth increase going from 470 to 480 - 32%
Based on clock speeds and shader count increases alone - which would be theoretical increase of 26% in performance - and not even factoring in the memory bandwidth increase, I assure that gtx480 does not outperform it's theoretical increase over the gtx470. I do not appreciate the insult, but even my "mustard seed" brain is proving you wrong again and again. You really should consider typing out cohesive, rational messages before diving into insulting other people and engaging in arguments you lose from the start.
\ You have proved nothing except you are a tale wagging the dog. You talkin circles. Well see who right in a small amount of time . I tell ya now Its not you . Your the same guy thats says that 580% increase in performance is what 20/25% over the 480 , When it is infact 15% or less. Ya NV forces the review sites to use certain games and than the fanbois talk like they have big e-penis. So here how this plays out according to many NV fans here.
When the 6970 beats the 580 in benchmarks shorty these numbers well all change as it has to . If The 6970 beats the 580 . Than the performance increase would be what. 60 % or better on the same 40nm process . All you guys have done is put yourselves in a hole that will be filled in shortly. I will simply go back pull up your post and well see who has it correct. I not sure were you put the 480 in % against the 580 but I pretty sure it will be a shrinking number once the 6970 kicks the 580 to the curb.
Its either that or the 6970 will be viewed as high achievement on same 40nm process.
I don't know who said it but I read here that the 580 was on average 35% faster than 480 . Get ready to get beat down badly.
