Anyways I'm pretty sure DevilsAdvocate is right.

I beleive he ammended that to ex-gf, but that is another story altogether as to why he is living with his ex.

I believe that link details a court case involving permissive use doctrine.

But I also be devilsadvocate to be correct. While she would face finse/charges or whatever if she were in an accident for not having a license. It wouldn't automatically make the accident her fault(unless OK has some law like that). If the other car hit her, then its thier fault. You may still have to deal with some fallout as to why you let her drive your car(I would say she stole it, but i would also not live with an ex, so take that for what its worth). Now if she caused the accident, they yes it would be your butt in the wringer. Not sure but possibly your insurance may cover any driver of your car. Some do some don't, that may be on a state by state basis. But either way you still could probablly get sued.

i have tried to explain to her before that if someone smacks into her, it's automatically her fault since she has no license and isn't covered by my insurance...not to mention i'm gonna be the one who gets sued since she doesn't have jack sh1t

is a soda and a haircut worth me losing my insurance, getting sued for god knows how much money, and possibly even facing criminal charges for negligence?

so who's ass do i put in a sling? do i say she stole the car, since technically she did, or do i keep my mouth shut and get taken for everything i own, and possibly even go to jail, depending on if she maimed someone or something like that...i'm sure they could find a way to charge me with criminal negligence or something like that....all over a fvcking soda

wtf is wrong with people...this is real life...my real life...quit trying to fvck it up

Also I don't believe that any accident is automatically the unlicensed drivers fault. Sure they will have traffic infractions due to driving without an operators license, but I don't think the fault will fall on them no matter what.
.

the way my insurance company explained it to me:

my insurance will cover anyone that drives my car. however, since my bf lives with me, he has regular access to my car. (or regular possible access to my car.) because he can routinely get to my car, he is considered a regular risk and would not cover anything that happened if he was the driver. therefore, double check.

Thats when you lie and say he doesn't live there.

That's the least she can do for you, since you've been putting up with her crap for so long.
Heh, you could still always be f*ck-buddies even though you "aren't together anymore" ;)

if she's driving to the store without a liscense and putting you legally at risk for what could potentially be someone else's mistake (not even hers)...

time to talk to her about it. And if she doesn't get it, pay for another soda and haircut, then say GTFO.
