Yep, most professors want to be fair, but you have to throw them a bone. A few professors are pricks and will not cut you any slack at all, my accounting professor wouldn't deal at all unless I had been hospitalized or there was a death in the family, and I would have to prove it. But most aren't like that.My profs clearly informs me of the penalties for late submission. Their systems vary, though.
