I guess that sums it up I have a gf fx 5900 xt and an ati 9800pro laying around. I am wondering which one I should use, proformance wise?

Wait wait wait. You have them both lying around. And you want us to tell you which one is better performance wise? JackAss.
 
Btw they are not so much laying around, as the 9800 pro is in my wifes computer, and I want to make sure the fight is worth it🙂
 
Ya, with all the new DX9 games, the FX series has to step back to 8.1 shaders or choke and die.

sell both and get either a 6600GT AGP or 6800OC
