It's on and the rules are as follows. Regardless of if we lose weight or not, it is going to benefit us. We plan to continue until we reach our target weights. Should be interesting, I'll keep this posted...

Weigh ins will take place weekly. The overall winner of the challenge is determined during the bi-weekly weigh ins.
Winners are determined by % weight loss. Ties will result in an additional weigh in 2 days after the tied day.

Gaining weight during weekly weigh ins will result in a $100 penalty to be deposited into savings.

Simply maintaining weight for 3 straight weeks will result in a $25 penalty to be deposited into savings.

She will have to lose 4lbs and I will have to lose 5lbs by Dec. 1 to be able to go to Universal Studios.

All possible scenarios and what happens as a result are outlined below:

Weekly weigh in winner: Her
Bi-weekly weigh in winner: Her
I will have to vacuum the house and do all floors in the kitchen and bathrooms (sweep and mop).

Weekly weigh in winner: Me
Bi-weekly weigh in winner: Her
I will have to vacuum the house.

Weekly weigh in winner: Me
Bi-weekly weigh in winner: Me
She will have to mow the lawn and perform edging duties.

Weekly weigh in winner: Her
Bi-weekly weigh in winner: Me
She will have to mow the lawn.

Starting weights
She = 147lbs
Me = 179.5lbs

Week 1
She = 144lbs 2% loss
Me = 178.5 0.5% loss

She is 147lbs and I am 179.5lbs.

Our goal is to reach 132lbs and 160lbs respectfully.

We are hoping to reach the goals in ~4-6 months. We are not obese by any means but were extremely fit when we first met (8 years ago). We would like to return to that form and I would like to do another half-marathon sometime this season.

Hilarious, but a good idea! :thumbsup:

BTW, it will probably be more fair to track weight loss by percentage to determine the winner. If you're 250# and she is 125# it will be much easier for you to lose 5# than 4# for her. In order to make this an even fight you'd have to lose 8#.

EDIT: NM on BTW point, your weight ratios are approximately proportional to 5/4 anyway.

are these all euphemisms or actual house work?

One week down and she owned me...

She lost 3lbs and I lost 1lb.

Breaks down to she lost 2% body weight and I lost ~0.5%
