Getting to Yankee stadium

I got tickets at the last minute to the Yankee game today and it was too late to catch the Yankee clipper.

I dont like driving into the city so I am going to take the subway to the stadium. I was going to park at NJIT, take the newark subway to Newark Penn station, take the Path, get off on 14th street, take the L to get to the eastsside, transfer to the 4 line and get off at the Yankee stadium stop.

The question I had was where do I get off the L train to do the transfer? And is this the bestway to get there?

*Spoilers*

They are going to lose 😛

*edit*
Ok, they are playing TB.. They might win..

L to Union Sq, jump on the 4 from there

edit: I don't know the Path, but if the Path drops you off on 14th near Union Sq then there's no need to jump on the L

You know what the Yankees record is against the Devil Rays in recent years?

consider driving to and park in Harrison (street meters may be available if not then a parking lot). you spend a few $ but worth it to eliminate newark subway at late nite.

path to 33rd st. walk through station to D train. take D to Yankee Stadium.

avoid 4 due to steam pipe explosion slow downs.

good point

i totally forgot about the pipe explosion, it was right by my apt too but am in Dallas ATM for business...i wonder how the green and 7 lines are being routed now..

Path will drop you at 14th and 6th. From there, get on the D (in the same station) to take express to 125th, then hop onto the B, which goes to Yankee Stadium.
Please note, it may be possible the D is the one going to the Stadium. Just follow the Yankees jerseys and hats. The B and D switch and I always find it difficult to keep track.

Uggggh what a crappy game.

No kidding ... the Yankee's have serious pitching problems on their hands & tomorrow isn't looking exactly looking up with Kei Igawa's 6.97 ERA taking the mound!

I'll be at the 1:00pm game tomorrow & even though I'd be lying if I said I have sympathy for the Bombers, I'm hoping for an interesting game.

The 1:00pm game today was actually pretty good .... my daughter & I got there about 11:30am & parking was nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be.

Got into the stadium in less then 15 minutes after arrival, took a quick walk through monument park & went to our seats which were a lot better then I expected them to be as well considering I paid $20 each for them. (Tier box MVP 633 row A - first row on the rail in shallow right field.)

I'm not sure how the traffic today would translate into a night game, but as long as you don't mind walking a few blocks up River ave it seems the parking situation isn't as bad as advertised provided you arrive 90+ minutes early.
