Hi !
I'm not too sure what kind of sound card I wanna get, but I do know this. I wanna change my SB-Live. I'm still waiting for a driver release that will give me AC-3 in Win2k and XP but nothing.
I'm considering the Game Theatre XP, but I'm not sure if that would be my best choice.

What do you think?

Note : I have the DTT3500 speakers from Cambridge (creative) and want to keep them, unless someone want to trade for Klipsch 5.1 :p LOL

Hey there. I have the DTT3500s as well. I get Dolby Digital on my Audigy as well as my SBLive! 5.1 in both WinXP and Win2k.

Do you have your settings on your DTT3500s right? What software/hardware DVD player are you using? What connection are you attempting to use? DIN, Optical, SPDIF?

If you have Win2k with SP2, then there is an update for PowerDVD if you are trying to use that. I use PowerDVD myself, but I could try to help you with whatever you're trying to use.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have on my config.

Good luck!

BTW, Game Theater is very nice. I would go with that if I didn't have my Audigy.

I'm trying to switch companies. Not that creative isn't good, but I want to explore the field a bit more.

BTW I'm using Digital DIN for sound and the version of the live that I have is not a 5.1.

I've seen that the Game Theatre now supports 6.1 Dolby Digital EX (or Matrix)... how does that setup work?
And can I get decent 5.1 from my DTT 3500???

Ok, I'm starting to narrow down my choices.

Sound Blaster Audigy or Game Theatre XP as these are pretty much the only gaming sound cards around here.

What do you think?

I'm gonna go dualboot on for my system, Win98SE and WinXP so, if possible, I want the card to have full functionnality in both OS.

Also, does anyone know about that 6.1 thing with the Game Theatre XP?

<< The Santa Cruz is an excellent gaming card. >>

But it's not available around here... that's why I'm stuck with these two choices...

I am still trying to decide between the SB Audigy Mp3+ and the Philips AE. I hear that Philips' drivers for WinXP are not any better than Creative's, though. Also, the FireWire port on the Audigy might be fun/make a machine a little more "future-proof."
