Thanks.
What do you use as far as filing? What the hell is a tickler exactly? (DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TOUCHIN' THAT ONE!)
What I need to know now is what do you use for the 43 folders or whatever, it just seems like a lot of folders. That's what I'm lost about I don't know what to buy.
(sorry about the late reply, comcast has been down since Tuesday)
I don't use a tickler, for two reasons. First, I wouldn't be diciplined enough to move the files around every day. Second, it would be mostly empty. Instead, since I use a PDA, I set a task (not appointment) for whatever day I want to be reminded on. It won't disappear, since if I don't mark it as done, it will simply roll over into the next day.
When I was using a stack of index cards (hipsterPDA), I simply wrote reminders on the calendar. This is against the recommendations of the book, however, since he says to view your calendar as sacred, and only put things that absolutely must be done on it.
I don't have a super large amount of files yet, so I just have a nice heavy duty filing cabinet next to my desk, with plain manila file folders in it. You can pick up 100 for $7 or $8 at any office supply store.
Remember, if something seems too complicated and that you wouldn't use it, don't. Why add complexity to your life? I would just treat the book as a collection of ideas. Some may work for you, some won't.
