This is her car with just the Stage 1 kit in:

There are some pre-production parts there in that image. Stage 2 raises the boost, adds the water/air chargecooler, second intake, and a few other things.

Hoping to get a bit of 700 at the crank. We'll see how that goes. She drives too fast as is.

WTF do you people DO with these overpowered cars? Drive around in circles on a racetrack while blasting "I can't drive 55" on the stereo?

Is the stereo overpowered too so you can risk deafness as well as dismemberment?

How are they underpowered if they get you from point A to point B just the same while using less fuel? It's not like you're going to get there faster because you have 400hp as opposed to 200hp are you?

Sure there are open roads, and if you wanted to, you could hit 130mph in an econobox as well as a sports car. You don't need 400hp to drive fast. That's my point.

You don't need a modern computer to play games either.

Econobox - 640x480 at 30fps
400hp - 1080P at 60fps

Now do you understand?

The econobox will take 40 seconds to get there, somebody's FI 400WHP toy is going to do it in 15 or less.

my cars are mainly street cars... both make in excess of 500 whp.... You don't have to break the speed limit to enjoy them. a quick blast up to highway speed is awesome, some spirited back road driving is also a blast. having a ton of power on hand is just an awesome feeling. You don't need to rag on the cars, just ease into the throttle and everything feels alright in the world. It really isn't about going a 150+ mph, it's more about how fast you can get up to that 55-60 mph speed limit.

Like jlee posted, do you need a high end computer for everything you use it for? SSDs, overclocked proc, multiple graphics cards?

I also equate it to lifting weights. what in my everyday life requires me to bench and squat heavy weights?

I look at my cars as more than appliances that move me around. I look at them as enjoyment, a getway/escape, while still providing me a transportation service.

Well you have the Z as a toy. Technically I'm not "allowed" to mess with the G but I'm too old to be constantly asking for forgiveness so I do what I want and deal with the bs for a while. I think she wants to get into a larger house before I waste money on cars. :biggrin:

Nah. FI 400 WHP > NA 400 WHP. FI will have a broader curve and be geared to take advantage of it.

The obvious solution is turn NA 400 WHP into FI 800 WHP :awe:

because at 77hp (vw bus) it takes about 25 sec to go 1/4 mile.

id love to have an average car for a DD, a WHP monster to play with and a quick, agile twistys car to switch off to when i want. different cars for different moods, so to speak. i love getting into my truck and blasting it up to the speed limit, it makes me giggle. i also love getting into my civic and having the better handling on curves. its not fast, but its quick enough to make me not want to upgrade it so far, and it handles great. im not about to go autoX my truck tho, i would turn it into a drift event if i tried, i think.
