Getting sick of browser auto-detected mobile pages on iPhone.

The whole idea of mobile safari is so that iPhone users do not have to deal with the "mobile" crappy Internet and yet, sites are going out of their way lately to provide feature-crippled mobile versions of their sites: fatwallet, amazon, facebook, bank of america...and you can't even circumvent some of them.

Anyone else find this slightly annoying?

Not much you can do about it from a client perspective if the mobile Safari sends a unique User-Agent header. Yeah, sites should give you the option.

Bank of America was the one that really got me annoyed, heh. The Mobile version of their site is a pile of text only garbage meant for a 2-years-ago RAZR. They need to be a bit smarter about it.

I've never really felt EDGE to be slow unless I am in a low signal area...Maybe it's where I live?

But you kind of like being forced to not have a choice? I mean, sure, leave the option open, but BoA forces to text only ugliness that makes it actually take more page loads to find the information you want.
