I was with my cousin in Oakland, Calif when I was high school at a gas station waiting for him to finish filling up his car. It was like 1 am in the morning and I decided that I needed to use the restrooms. So I get out of the car and ask for the key from the station attendant and do my business. After I return the key I'm walking out of the mini mart and see some guys talking, rather, yelling at my cousin. But it's late and i'm 15 so I'm not thinking the clearest and "smartly" decide to walk back to the car.
Anyway, i'm sitting in the passenger seat waiting for my cousin to stop arguing with the people who rolled up next to him so we could get out of there... I wait a good 5 minutes before I get out of the car to ask my cousin "WTF man, lets go." He turns to me and tells me to get back into the car, as he turns back we both see the guy who he was arguing with pull something out of his pants... without hesitation both of us leave the car there (it was a bucket anyway, 1982 civic or something) and JAM IT.
The guy with the gun and two of his friend insue after us. I get about two blocks away before I slip and fall on wet pavement moistened by fvcking sprinklers... my cousin doesn't even stop to see if i'm alright as he runs off... Before I know it I hear two shots and feel the sharpest pain i've ever felt in my life on my rib cage. I can't remember if I yelled or not but I do remember instincitively holding my ribs with one hand and covering my head with the other to protect myself as the guys ran past me after my cousin... Needless to say I was scared as fvck and two afraid to look at my side and hoped someone saw me and had called the cops...
I lay there for about 5 minutes scared as hell not knowing what to do before realizing the pain had subdued a lil. I moved my hand away and saw that it was covered with red... As I opened my mouth about to scream i noticed that the red stuff was of a strange texture and consistancy... at first I thought it was "guts" or something, but as I padded the spot down, I realized it was fvckin' a paintball...
