Getting SETI set up on computers with no Internet access - who wants to help me?

Here's the deal: I've got 2 laptops, a Pentium 233MHz and a PII 266MHz, just sitting around, on almost 24/7 but not doing much, and I've finally decided to put them to work on SETI for me, I figure even though they'll ruin my wonderful average WU time, it's probably close to 75 WUs a month, I might as well have them... The one problem is that these laptops don't have Internet access. I think that I should be able to set up SETI Driver, cache a whole bunch of WUs on this machine and transfer them on a Zip disk, and it should work fine, and I can just transfer the WUs back when it runs out, flush them from here, download a fresh batch, etc... Will this work?

Will this work?

Yes. Just tell Setidriver not to auto-transmit. :)

Yep. It might just be easiest to copy the whole SETI Driver folder over to your main machine, run SETI Driver there and have it get new WU's, and then copy everyting back.

DarkMajiq,
I do this on 3 machines at work. Just download the cli and seti driver on to the zip drive- just make sure to direct the download to the correct drive. Make a folder on your laptop, name it seti, and just use copy and paste. I format the zip after transfer, takes about 5-10 seconds and do the reverse when wu's are done, copy and paste from lap to zip.

Yeah, I've got it all set up now, 50 WU caches... Should last them about 6 weeks I figure... I'm sad that it will really kill my average time though... Oh well, my dual PIII 866s will help balance that out when I get them :)
