On the rear of my bumper, are 4 spots where paint has come off, paint, primer and all. So you can see the bare fiber glass. It?s a Nissan Maxima 2000 with pearl white paint job.

I have a local place that will repair the hole, repar the areas with putty. Do a clear coat and then feather in the pearl white to match the bumper as best as possible. For $200.

Went to MACCO, and they want to charge me $375 for what they call a '3 stage' process.

Is it really worth it. Would I be getting ripped by going to macco?


 
I heard maaco does a really shoddy job. Bunch of students in training working there. Dunno how accurate that is though. Good luck.
 
avoid maaco at all costs. they will wreck your car, and not take responsibility for it.

they told me that they would smoothen out my door (it had a few dings) before painting it if I paid them 50 bucks extra. I said yes.
Well they didnt tell me the were going to sand down about a square foot worth of the door a half cm into the metal, and then put bondo all over that. now the bondo is cracking and chipping.

Also they broke my spoiler while taking it off but didnt tell me, they just put it back on, it being held only by one screw on one side, and 2 screws on the other. water seeped in and now its starting to rust.

and all their paint chipped off around the edges and crap.
my car looks horrible now.
 
Take it to the local place, no point in paying almost double for something so minor like that.

BTW my father is taking his truck into macco for a complete new color paint job, he should have it back on tuesday, I would like to see how it turns out.

It will look great when it comes back, and for the next few months but after that its going to get pretty bad.
