getting rid of stains in fiberglass bathtub?

It's an old tub from about 15, maybe 20, years ago and it's got some of those ugly brown stains by the drain from where the water sits. Was checking out google a while back and it said Barkeeper's Friend or some ammonia+white vinegar will take care of that. Anyone got any suggestions you know work?

can I get "new tub" at a walmart or a hardware store like CLR?

CLR is worthless. I usually use Comet and scrub it for a while. If you didn't get the joke, "new tub" = get a new tub.
