there are three or four pigeons that have decided my balcony is the place to hang out and lay eggs. anytime i hear them i run over and throw things at them to make them leave but they keep coming back. does anyone know a way to get rid of these things for good?

If you want to get rid of them, you'll have to get rid of the nest. Do it before the chicks hatch though.

i live in an apartment so i dont have a hose anywhere nearby. i have actually already broken several of their eggs and they still come back. i dont have a cat but maybe i could borrow one. my girlfriend said i cant hurt them because she "loves all animals". and everytime they even start a nest i throw all the things they bring off the balcony but they just lay eggs on the carpet out there. i think im just going to have to kill them when the old lady isnt around.

I have same problem. There is a homeless lady digging through our apartment complex's trash and making tonnes of noise. Is there a way to get her arrested?

Dude. There is no need to kill the poor birds. What have they done to you? There are more humane ways of getting rid of the birds.

Take the pidgeon by the wing, and gently explain to it the dislike you have of it's avian nesting habbits. Tell it in a stilly voice, that it must relocate it's offspring bearing receptacle in a location that is seperate from your nesting location, in order to promote a more expanded community. Tell him to spread the word.

Then proceede to crush it's fvcking head under your boot.

Yeah. I know they can be annoying at times. I actually had a pigeon as a pet when I was a child, it was pretty cool but got noisy at night. Just find something that that they are naturally enemies with and stick it out there. I know there are ways to do it, but i'm not sure exactly what.

Try taking a look at some of these natural products on this site. They repel the birds, but dont' hurt them. :) link.

Get some soccar goal netting or a similar mesh and 'fence off' your balcony for a while, at least long enough that they learn not to return . . .then take it down . . .that might take a while though. They'll probably find another place to nest if you do that. Just get a commercial staple gun and some netting. It'll look ugly for a little bit but will definately be less irritating than the pigeons and a lot more humane.

Why? 1) They're not endangered, 2) They're common fare in China, 3) They're destroying property.

Do not catch them and eat them. They are disease infested.

Put a coy (owl) outside?

Urinate on and around their nest somehow and hope that your scent offends them.

If you don't destroy the nest and put up an obsticle (like bird wire), they will return every year to nest there. Or you could shoot them. Killing two pigeons will not throw off the ecosystem.

Uhm. Because killings animals for your own selfish needs is wrong.
