What do I have to do to get rid of the 'My Pictures' folder forever?!?!?

I only the use my W2K partition for the OS and apps. All of my own folders are on a separate partition and I have the 'My Documents' shell folder pointing towards that. I've tried changing the registry entry (in Explorer/Shell Folders/) and it works fine until I try to change the Windows wallpaper through Display Properties. At that point Windows decides to create the My Pictures folder again and change the registry setting back to that. Very annoying.

Can this be solved permanently?

Hey, you're right - it does that for me too. Although its pretty benign as an empty folder...

The really annoying part is that the new 'My Pictures' folder now becomes your default folder for picture files.

hmm. Don't know about that. I keep all my pictures in a different location and nothing gets directed to My Pictures by default.

Have you tried dragging the folder to a new location? This will move all of the registry handlers pointing to it.

Its recreated because the desktop.ini file is stored there. Also Win2K only defaults the storage of pictures for the first time in that folder, chage the directory save like anything else in windows and it will default to your last saved directory.
