I am working on a friends computer that was loaded with spyware. It appears I still have one file to remove. The system is Windows 98. The file is in the windows/system folder and is crgwiz.dll. It almost seems to mutate. It is loaded when windows starts and I am having trouble finding where. It also has attributes of SHR. I booted to safe mode and it does not show if I do. I booted to the prompt and it does not show unless I specifically ask about it with the H option. However, it will not let me change any of the attributes on the file. I even tried the old Norton Commander and it does not show. It is there but I cannot get rid of it. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

It will not show if it as Hidden System attributes.

At a Command Prompt you would type:
attrib -r -h -s crgwiz.dll

then

del crgwiz.dll

Either that or can you boot off a floppy, access the hard drive then del the file that way. Or take the HDD out of the machine and put it in another, then delete the file that way too.
