Getting ready for Vista

Currently I am running 2x 1GB of 3500LLPRO. Should I bump that up to 4GB in order to run Vista Ultimate with the Aero? I'm just worried that if it is needed by that time I won't be able to find the sticks available any longer.

In fact, I can't find these sticks anywhere any longer. If anyone sees them, could you post a link? Thanks for any help

What brand are the sticks??? Looks to be Corsair. I'm not seeing it anywhere either, at least not from online websites I would trust. (http://www.shopbot.com.au/p-10073-302841.html)

2GB should be enough to run Aero just fine. The overall performance(IMHO) will come from the CPU, memory, and graphics card. Making sure these are up to date will help performance a lot.

EDIT:

And after checking out your rig...I don't see a problem with anything. You are good to go.

2 gb is fine unless you plan on doing something that's, hmmmmm, "interesting" and very memory intensive. But you can also add ram to a Vista system using the usb ports and a flash ram drive. It's a "boost" feature that you can read up about in the Vista documentation on the Microsoft site. I've run aero on only 1 gig of system RAM. Then I put in another stick and ran it on 2. All the OS did was put the extra gig into the system cache. So 2 should give you lots of "headroom".

Thanks for the help guys. I did hear something about using a USB flash drive to increase memory, but I am unsure as to how that works, but I'll look into it more. Thanks again.

USB flash for "increased memory" would suck at best.
