Norm for a New York Public School:
9th-Math A1/A2
10th-Math A3/B1
11th-Math B2/B3
12th-Pre-Calc.

That being said, here's MY trip:
8th-Math A1/A2
9th-Math A3/B1
10th-Math B2/B3 <-In B3 now
11th-Pre-Calc.
12th-Calc./AP Calc.

I consider myself pretty good with math so maby I'll get in AP Calc. Apparently in New York State, unless your in "advanced" courses, I guess you can't take Calc.
I'm a year ahead of most people in my grade in math and science (damn AP Chem!!!!)...

Washington has Integrated Math, which combines many math subjects into 3 levels. After that it's either AP statistics or Pre-Calculus. Then Calculus.

wtf is "integrated math"? So you go Geo->Alg II->>"Integrated Math"->>Precalculus->Calc?

I have no idea were Algebra 2 would fall into my states school thing. Here we have Math A and Math B, both year and a half courses. (in New York). They have A1, A2, and A3 and B1, B2 and B3. I'm in B3 and find math to be easy. Now if I could only stop slacking I might get a good grade instead of a half-way decent grade.

Edit: And after all that New York is finally going back to the Algebra, Geometry, etc. courses.

So I'm guessing Algebra 2 is the easy stuff?

The average where I live is

9th - Algebra 1
10th - Geometry
11th - Algebra 2
12 - Pre-Calc / Stats & Probability

My program at school was:
8th - Algebra 1
9th - Algebra 2
10th - Geometry/Trigonometry
11th - PreCalculus
12th - Calculus

That was the 'advanced' track. That being said, it was different for everyone, but pretty much followed the same path, with a bit more emphasis on Geometry for those in lower tracks.

Alot of the kids I knew did this:
7th- Algebra 1/2
8th- Algebra 3/Geometry
9th- Trig
10th- PreCalc
11th- AP Clac
12th- AP Stats

Some of the geniuses did AP Calc in the 9th

What is Algebra 3? My schools are:
9th - Algebra 1
10th - Geometry
11th - Algebra 2
12 - Pre-Calc / Stats & Probability
but I am 2 years ahead (about 2 to 3 kids do this per year in my school out of 500 per grade).
I am taking Algebra 2 as a freshman.
