Has anyone gotten out of a cell phone contract before it ended? If so, how? I have a friend who's pretty disappointed with the reception at most of the places he stays/visits, and its past the return time for the contract. Any help would be appreciated...

You can do it but you most likely will have to pay a pnealty charge....read the fine print of the contract.

A search under the word "contract" gave me no less than 5 identical threads. Just a hint. ;)

*edit*

Just in case you're lazy, Sprint charges $150 to get out and AT&T knocks you for $175.
Like the previous poster said, you signed a contract when getting the phone. It clearly states how much you pay for breaking it in there. Or did that simple fact not cross your friend's mind? :)

Are you sure it's not the phone? I had really bad SprintPCS reception in my apartment. When I switched phones, the problem went away.

Also, I put up a passive repeater antenna.
