Getting on the net with Linux

Hey, I just recently got interested in Linux. I chose to get Slackware 7.1 and I'm currently running Win98se. I have a dsl connection using NAT. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get Linux on my dsl connection? TIA

Uh, yeah. That's a real helpful comment. I'm sure he'll thank you a lot for that informative response.

Anyways...how do you connect up with your DSL, PPoE, PPoA, ethernet? That's a start in helping you out.

Does your dsl modem do DHCP? If so, you could have just chosed DHCP on install. If it doesn't, or you didn't choose it look through /etc/rc.inet1 and rc.inet2. The parameters to change for your local config are at the top of those two files.

I need to know how to setup my PPPoE service in Linux 😀
Do I need to order the Linux version of my PPPoE software (EnterNet 300) or is there a third party Linux PPPoE?
