getting old version of norton off of a pc?

weird......anyways, a friend of mines mother bought a new version of norton and would like to install it on the girls pc, but they can't remember the password and thus cannot uninstall the old version of norton.....they do not want to pay the 10 dollars for tech support, is there anyway to uninstall it without knowing the password?
