Getting old sucks

So I tweaked my back yesterday trying to push the van out of the muck. I didn't feel it much until today. Now it feels like an alien is munching on my spinal cord.

How do you old bastards deal with the aches and pains?

I haven't tried it yet but my martial arts instructor recommended fish oil pills. Other than that, it is rest, eating healthy, trying to stay as fit and flexible as possible and just dealing with it.

Now that I'm over 40, I need to monitor what I eat a bit more closely and try to exercise about 4 times per week, this after being stagnant and lazy during my 30's. I know I'm not going to win this war, but I'm sure as hell going to delay the defeat as long as I can.

I worked in retail for 15 years. Retail years are kind of like dog years...except that you have to figure the time that the added drinking takes off your life.

I figure I am about 139 in regular years.

Please....

I am 36 and play a goalie in ice and roller hockey 3-5 times per week. Yes, the general soreness doesn't go away as fast. I do feel very good and in shape though which is a very good thing.

I don't complain too much about the aches and pains. I just go out there and keep playing and living life. Eventually, I won't be able to do these things anymore, but I can always take up low impact sports like swimming and such.
