Getting no CPU temp readings

Hey guys,

was wondering why my motherboard won't read my cpu temps. I have an asus a8n sli motherboard, and the cpu temps were read when i had my stock heatsink fan on (amd 3500+ winchester), but when i switched it out to my xp90 w/ panaflo 92mn fan, it posts 0 rpm speed, and no cpu temps. I'm assuming here, that is has nothing to do w/ the motherboard, or the heatsink, but simply the wiring on the fan. I think the fan doesn't have a cpu temp or rpm sensor wire, but it looks as if it does (3 wires w/ 3 pin connector to connect to my motherboard via cpu fan slot). Other than that, i have no idea why my motherboard does not show cpu temp/fan rpm readings. Wondering if anybody else w/ panaflo fans having this problem? if its simply wirings, i'd be happy to switch it out cuz the fan lets you disconnect/connect easily, as long as the wiring is pre-cut/wired w/ a connector for the fan and cpu fan motherboard slot. Other than what i mentioned, i have no idea if anything is contributing to my problem. Would greatly appreciate anybody's input, especially w/ owners of panaflo fans or xp90 heatsinks! thanks a lot guys.
