hello Computer Community :). I'm looking into getting a new video card but there are sooooooo many I can't decide. I'm a HUGE GAMER and $400-450 is my limit any suggestions?

I've been really considering the EVG GeForce GTX 760 4GB, anyone have it or recommend it? I'm upgrading from a Gigabyte GTX 570. going to 2 way sli in future whatever card I decide on. Thank you in advanced and let the graphic card choosing begin!

I would wait until October. Your GTX 570 should be fine until then.... I assume 1080P?

Supposedly the new 9000 series from AMD - Could mean mean price drops across the board or people unloading their current GPU's for cheap...?

If you want to go with Nvidia and you want new, then you have two options in your price range.

GTX 760 or GTX 770.

Not sure I would spend the extra money on 4GB unless you plan of upgrading your monitor to a higher resolution soon OR you play Skyrim and want to mod every texture you can.

Sorry for thread hijack. What happens if you all ready have internal exhaust card and your going to SLI/Xfire? Is it still best to go external exhaust for 2nd card?

Hey Joe, I don't have any experience in this, so I am no expert. I am just regurgitating what I have heard other people say. It seems it would probably be better if you could find an external exhausting card and install it in the top slot. Then you can install your open air cooler in the bottom slot. Though if you have a case with better than average air flow you could probably get away with two open air coolers. But again, I don't have this setup so it's all hearsay.

OP. if you can get 200 out of you 570 then an upgrade to the 760 would be like $50. That would be a crazy good and cheap upgrade.

760 SLI is very very powerful. Not sure if you need 4g though. Especially at 1080. Is there any information out there that specifically test the 760 sli in 2 vs 4gb scenarios? That would be very useful right now.

Given his budget is 450, why not go up and get a better card? A GTX 770? Since he has to be "allowed" by his wife to buy a card and this is his chance, makes no real sense to only do a $50 upgrade. Might as well get a GTX 770, that'd only run him 250 (correct me if I'm wrong on pricing), and the SLI GTX 770 would be quite nice.

If his budget is $450 and he can get an additional $200 from selling the 560 I think he should buy a 780. If the $450 includes the $200 sale then 770.

thanks guys for all your input I ended up going with the EVG GeForce GTX 760 4GB still a good card no? I just couldn't justify spending 479 plus tax for a card lol, I'll just end up selling this down the road and buying another one when I upgrade everything else lol. again though thanks guys for your help in the matter

Good card. You will be very happy with it. EVGA vs. Gigabyte - Warranty and service are the two main factors for me if both cards are reference. I think EVGA would be the better of the two if those factors are considered.
