getting new mouse ~50$

so 50 bucks is my budget and im buying new mouse. i have only tested mx510, wich was ok. but "something" was missing. IMO intellimouses look better, but mx510 has better specks. Do intellimouses(mainly wireless) lag in fps games? logitech shouldn't. Is wireless worth of few bucks?

I have the rechargable mx700 and I get no slow response at all. The 510 and 700 are a different breed when it comes to wireless mice, so the 510 gets my choice.

Read the reviews on the 510, most everyone will agree that the response between this 510 and wired is so minimal you cant notice.

So yes, 510

I thought the MX510 only comes wired. Anyway, I have the wired version of the MX510, and I can't see myself ever using anything else...

😀

Oh my fault you are right...I thought the 510 was the wireless 500, but I guess not. Anyway, if that is the case then the 510 is definately the one (I like blue)🙂

I like the 700 myself, but $80 for a mouse is steep for you if you are in $50 range.

After using MX500 and MX700, I went back to MS IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. As much as I hate Microsoft, Explorer 3.0 is a much better mouse. I just had too many problems with the MX series... Had to get a replacement for MX500 and MX700 was just a bit too laggy compared to wired mice I've used. MX510 may be better, but I've already wasted far too much money on the MX series...

I've got a similar story. I found the MX700 too heavy and wasn't happy with the mouseware with the MX500 so I'm back to the Explorer 3.0 for now. It's nice and light and the software let's you set up profiles for separate games. There's freeware that's supposed to work the same for Logitech mice but it didn't work for me.

Logitec MX900 So what do you think?
so what is the verdict?

the reviews on ?Pricegrabber isn't excellent but the poor ones are mainly due to the poor drivers..

is this mouse good for lite gaming

The Logitech MX510 is the best mouse for gaming one can buy period, I don't rec. installing the logitech drivers and if you find it's to heavy, it can be taken appart and the metal weight can be removed. Just my 2 cents... Hope this helps.... 🙂

So dont install the included software??

did it really improve your first person shooter skills?

I've got the MX510 also and I would never go back to any of the others I've tried. It didn't feel right when I first got it, but after a couple of days it became second nature. Honestly for you though, you have narrowed it down to a couple which is good, but the best advice I can give you is to try the Intellimouse out before you decide. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to these things (see all posts above), and no one person is going to have the same preferences as you. Hopefully you have a friend that has the Intellimouse you are interested in so you can try it out, otherwise you can always go to the store and give it a semi-shot there. Good luck, and make the choice on your own!

Why not install the logitech drivers? Is there another way to customize the buttons without the software?

BTW, i just picked up a MX510 the other day, and it's GREAT... but then again i haven't tried the MS mouse yet.

I've tried the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (both original and 3.0), and the Logitech MX500 and MX700.

My favorite out of the bunch is the MX500.

i didnt install mouseware on mine. i dont customize my keys anyways so it would just be another extra process.

i have the mx700 and i think it's really great. i'm not a hardcore gamer but i play condition zero once in while and i dont feel any lag with the mx700. plus it's wireless. on the other hand if your a hardcore gamer, you should probably get the mx510.
